A Place for All

Our Story

Our Story

John and Susan DeLaney stepped out in faith and started the Southport Seventh-day Adventist Church. They were driving an hour and twenty minutes to attend church because there was no SDA church where they live in Brunswick County, NC, the 7 fastest growing county in the United States. After almost nine months of prayer, they found nine others in their area who joined them in their quest to share the gospel with their community. This small team fellowshiped, planned, and prayed for another year before holding their first service on September 9, 2023, in John and Susan’s home. We now have 30-35 regular attendees (and growing) and still meet in our home. The atmosphere of the house church enables us to fellowship more meaningfully. Our church is a family that supports each other with joy in our hearts.

Our Beliefs

Seventh-day Adventists are Christians who worship Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We are students of the Bible because we believe it is divinely inspired and is our “instruction book” for life.

Our name highlights two significant pillars of our beliefs. First, our services are on the seventh day of the week, Saturday, the Sabbath day set aside at creation and in the Ten Commandments. Second, we believe in the second advent of Jesus and believe we have a personal responsibility to help others prepare for His soon return.

Our Values

Our Values

Evangelism
We want everyone to go to heaven, so we are committed to sharing the truths of the Bible with others to help them develop a saving relationship with Jesus.

Instruction
The Bible was given to mankind to show God’s love and to reveal truth so that we do not fall for errors. We support this by providing Bible instruction for our members and the community.

Fellowship
Fellowship is essential to our Christian experience. We strive to create a joyful environment where all feel welcome, loved, and part of a family that extends beyond the weekly services.

Revival
We believe that an awakening to the necessity for a thriving relationship with Jesus Christ is the greatest need in the world today, and we are committed to helping our community experience this relationship.

Unity
We believe in the unity of our church family. We value the opinion of each member and welcome free expression of differing viewpoints. We make decisions guided by prayer, Bible study, and the working of the Holy Spirit, and join together as one in support of these decisions.
